This disclaimer became necessary when other organizations bearing the "Seguin" name began to spring up following the
unveiling of the Juan N. Seguin statue which received considerable Local, National and International publicity.
It was on the heels of an honest effort by so many to honor a True Texas Hero that other organizations found a voice.
The SFHS recognizes that while it is the highest compliment to be copied and imitated; there are always those who might use
this opportunity for personal and/or financial gain.
The SFHS was organized for the sole purpose of conducting family genealogy, expanding the field of research on
Col. Juan N. Seguin to assimilate those findings and share them with the family and the general public at large, including
information on other Tejano heroes, their accomplishments and the pivotal roll of those accomplishments and contributions to
Texas History; then and to this very day.
