Key to the City - The Historic City of Seguin

Presented by the Mayor of the City of Seguin,
Honorable Mark Stautzenberger, Mayor
on October 27, 2001 at the One Year Anniversary Celebration of the installation of the
larger than life size bronze statue of
Col. Juan N. Seguin in Seguin Central Park, presented to
The Seguin Family Historical Society

Graciously accepted by President Julia Aguilar,
Vice President Juries Anne Seguin and
Founder Albert Seguin C. Gonzales
on behalf of the Family.

We know this Key to the City is given to the family with respect, honor and sincerity, that it is not given lightly or without careful consideration to the past and present events which merit this presentation.

The Key is representative of many factors; of the Seguin Family's participation in the annual grave side ceremony and celebration since 1990; of the Seguin Family Historical Society taking responsibility for the research, writing and production of the event since 1998 with heartfelt dedication to preserve authenticity of history; of the Seguin Family's participation and dedication in the Juan N. Seguin Statue project from its' inception to its' installation in 2002 at the Seguin Central Park; of the Seguin Family's work done in the designation of the Juan N. Seguin Blvd and the Juan N. Seguin Memorial Interchange at the 610 loop and Texas Highway 225, see: Juan N. Seguin Road to History

This honor is accepted by the family in due course as preservers and promoters of educational information and promoters of our Ancestor and Texas History.
