It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words.

The above photos are small samples of the more the 75 persons that attended the reception for the Seguin Family at the Wyndam Hotel.

The Seguin Family extends a very sincere heartfelt "Thank You" to all of the above listed companies, organizations and individuals. What an honor it was for all of us to be welcomed with such open arms, unsolicited generosity and friendship.

Everything was beautifully done and so very much appreciated. The best part was the fellowship enjoyed by all.

Juan Seguin lit up the Arlington night as a two story silhouette of the colonel's statue shimmered through the waterfall in the Wyndham lobby as a. string quartet of award winning students from the newly opened Juan N. Seguin High School preformed a medley of classical arrangements.

The stars came out for this evening of celebration, commitment and recognition of a True Texas Hero, Juan N. Seguin.
In attendance were Arlington's Mayor Elzie and wife Mrs. Odom; Virginia Van Cleave, President General of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Library; Fil Alvarado, Master of Ceremonies - Fox 4 News and his amazing and beautiful wife Maria; Principal Ed Farmer; Sharon Arrizola; Art Robels; Roy Kurban, Justice of the Peace; Mr. Juan Perez, President of the United Hispanic Council; Zoni Wessinger and so many, many others. They were but a few of the celebrities that graced the evening in formal attire and gracious manner. Reminiscent of Rita Kerr's discription of a simialiar gathering which took place in 1821 in her book "Juan Seguin A Hero of Texas"

Family members from around the state attended the reception representing: Arlington, Austin, Boerne, Brownsville, Corpus Christy, Dallas, Galveston, Houston, Irving, Pasadena, San Antonio, and Texas City.

Maria Alvarado, what a women! Super Women perhaps! She is responsible for organizing the reception and what a beautiful job she did, would anyone dare to expect anything less.

The pictures are not inclusive of everyone in attendance, nor do they do justice, to the food and decorations that made the reception a huge success.

Never before had the heart of Texas beat so warmly with tearful pride in rememberance of its most romantic figure.

The highlight of the evening was remembering that we were all there to Honor
a True Texas Hero,
Juan Nepomuceno Seguin
A Texas Legend!
